Fitment of the Cummins® engine is tight but results in a great conversion because you get to keep your IFS. The space from the firewall to the core support makes it extremely difficult to use the mechanical cooling fan. Anything is possible just be prepared to use your creativity and doing a significant amount of front clip modifications and fabrication.
Key Notes
- Use of electric fans allows a stock ride height (a body lift is not required). To use a mechanical fan from a Dodge Cummins engine, a body or suspension lift is required to move the engine back slightly.
- You will have to do some cutting to the engine mount perches to make room for the wider oil pan rail. To keep the engine and transmission angle correct you’ll need to space the transmission up 1/4 inch.
- The Adapter Plate in this kit is designed for use with a Ford® 6.4L diesel starter.
- If your lower water neck is not pointing down at a 45° angle, we recommend purchasing DCS SKU 3102 (listed in this kit's pick list).
